
On Friday, June 11, 2021, the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day will sponsor the inaugural “Walk Down Memory Lane” 5K Run/Walk starting from the Melbourne Auditorium. At 7:00 am, the day starts with a 5k Run/Walk. At 8:00 am, the course opens for the 1-mile Stroll Down Memory Lane, which will feature scenes from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Test your memory and win prizes.
At 9:00 am, the long-running expo has been converted to a drive-thru model this year and expects 100’s of seniors looking for information on senior community services. Proceeds from the event will benefit the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day as hosted by the Brevard County TRIAD, Department of Children and Families, the Brevard Commission on Aging, and the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation. This partnership was formed to raise awareness in our community of the different types of elder abuse and resources to assist victims and their families.
Sponsorships and donations are tax-deductible as provided in Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Goals of our partnership include: • Perpetuating the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Event • Raising awareness of the different types of elder abuse • Providing additional resources as needed in our community We want to ask your consideration to participate as a sponsor in this vital community awareness event.
