The Melbourne Regional Chamber's Small Business Council is designed to support businesses and organizations with 50 or fewer
employees. Our council partners network, share information, and gather the resources they need to improve, grow and flourish. Monthly meetings feature informative speakers on a variety of topics relevant to small business owners, such as small business loans, networking, human resources, managing payroll and more.

Small Business Council generally meets on the first Tuesday of each month. Check our events calendar for meeting details and registration.

2021 Small Business Council Leadership

This year's Small Business Council is led by chair Alan Bernstein with vice-chair Caitlin Rice. Alan is the owner of HR Office Savers, an independent human resource consulting firm that supports small local businesses and individuals with their human resource needs, including soft skills training and outplacement. 

Prior to launching his business in 2018, Alan held a series of Human Resource positions of increased responsibility at Verizon Wireless, Honeywell International, and Harris Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Buffalo, is Six Sigma Green Belt Certified, and is a Senior Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resource Management. 

Alan also serves on the boards of the Melbourne Regional Chamber, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, and the Space Coast HR Association where he serves as the chapter President. Alan and his family have resided in Melbourne since 2016. 

Alan said, “I am excited to partner with Caitlin Rice and the chamber staff to bring another year of networking, learning and community involvement to the Small Business Council. 

Caitlin Rice is the founder and CEO of Éclat Media Group, formerly Caitlin Rice PR, a boutique PR agency in Melbourne. She studied Communications with an emphasis in PR, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee. With a passion for learning new things, Caitlin is always excited to dive head first into a new industry or build on knowledge of an industry she already knows. Caitlin is a powerhouse of media outreach, event coordination, email marketing, and strategic partnerships. She also serves on the board of directors for Loving Neighbor, as treasurer for The Early Learning Coalition of Brevard, and is an ambassador of the Melbourne Regional Chamber. In her free time, you can catch Caitlin at the local climbing gym, spending time with her “zoo” of three dogs and two cats, or binge watching reality TV.
