ONE HEALTH EVENT AT DAILY BREAD OFFERING MEDICAL CARE TO THE HOMELESS AND THEIR PETS
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Street Dog Coalition and the Brevard Health Alliance are joining forces on June 23 to care for lives on both ends of the leash. Partnering with the Daily Bread, medical services will be available at no cost to those living in homelessness at the Daily Bread Resource Center located at 815 E. Fee Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901.
At the Daily Bread Homeless Resource Center, both these nonprofit providers will serve the homeless and their pets for free – providing health exams, vaccines, medication, preventatives, diagnostic testing, and other essential services for healthy pets and owners.
This joint event is in recognition of the Centers for Disease Control’s ONE HEALTH initiative, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of the health of animals, humans, and the environment. The CDC’s initiative focuses on Coordination, Communication, and Collaboration – all of which are represented by the June 23 event.
Please join us in supporting this event and celebrating the human-animal bond that is so crucial to all.
