TAXES
· In addition to federal taxes such as corporate income tax and unemployment tax, most businesses in Florida are required to pay state taxes such as sales and use tax, discretionary sales surtax (local option taxes), unemployment tax, communications services tax, corporate income tax, and use tax on out-of-state purchases.
· Certain businesses must also pay tangible or intangible personal property tax. Florida law requires many businesses to e-file their tax returns. Businesses must pay electronically through www.myflorida.com/dor, if they pay more than $30,000 per year in sales or fuel tax; have 10 or more employees on whom they pay unemployment tax in any calendar quarter; or remit any fuel tax or file consolidated tax returns for locations in more than one county.
